Special Sessions/WorkshopsCooperative Implementations of Swarming and Foraging AlgorithmsScopeSwarming and foraging algorithms are optimization techniques that were inspired by the behavior of animals, insects, birds or fish. They gained huge popularity since they were extremely effective when applied to many engineering applications. Swarming algorithms are to mimic the swarming and collective intelligence behaviors of groups of individuals while foraging algorithms are inspired by the foraging behavior of individuals when locating food sources. These algorithms include: Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), the Fish Swarm Algorithm (FSA), Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm (BFOA), the Bees Algorithm (BA), Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Harmony Search (HS). In the past few years, many of these algorithms have been used as components in a cooperative environment. Many of these cooperative approaches rely on decomposing the search space either implicitly or explicitly for a more efficient searching behavior. Interested researchers are encouraged to submit their latest research on topics that include (but are not limited to):
